Pure Science Maths
Department of mathematics was started along with the institution in 1986.
In the first year the Department of Mathematics taught 200 students. The number of students grew in leaps and
bounds year after year and now after its existence for over 2.5 decades the Department of Mathematics has to
its credit to have taught more than 10000 students from the beginning of the Institution. Beginning with one member in its first year of inception the Department of Mathematics has grown in strength and now having six (06) faculty members of which three (3) are pursuing their Ph. D. degree. The Department of Mathematics is involved with teaching activities for UG / PG / global electives in Mathematics under VTU,
Vision
To mould the students to have strong Mathematical and analytical skills to meet the challenges open to them.
Mission
The mission of the Mathematics Department is to have a positive and lasting impact on the quality of mathematics education and assist educators of mathematics in meeting the challenges of today’s dynamic educational landscape. It strives to provide excellent teaching, and service to the university community and to the world in the application of mathematics to other disciplines
HOD Message
Mathematics is Prince of Science and Engineering C. F. Gauss
In this era of emerging technologies & advanced sciences, developed nations are focusing on applied research by using knowledge linkages between scientists, engineers and researchers. Mathematics & Statistics form the backbone for knowledge development for scientists and engineers. Our focus is to produce engineers equipped with modern mathematics tools with strong understanding towards real world and engineering problems.
